If you have suggestions about travel ideas, please contact the Senior Center office at 860-739-5859. We will consider all requests. Don’t be shy – tell us what is on your bucket list.

Day Trips are planned for the months of April through December. On average, there are 2 Day Trips per month scheduled. These trips are held in conjunction with Lymes’ Senior Center and Waterford Senior Services as a way to ensure enough registrations for a trip to run. Day Trips are open to adults.

Registration dates for Day Trips are noted on their specific flyer. It is important to register as soon as you can. If a Day Trip is full, be sure to put your name on the Wait List. If there are enough names on the Wait List, we will look to run a second bus or to schedule the same trip at a later date. If that happens, all names on the Wait List will be called first.

OVERNIGHT TRIPS/CRUISES

Overnight trips and cruises are scheduled throughout the year. Their duration is anywhere between 2 nights to 2 weeks. These trips are also held in conjunction with Lymes’ Senior Center and Waterford Senior Services as a way to ensure enough registrations for a trip to run. Overnight Trips and Cruises are open to adults.

Registration dates for Overnight Trips/Cruises are noted on their specific flyer. It is important to register as soon as you can.

    Highlights – Monterey, Scenic 17-Mile Drive, Yosemite National Park, Sacramento, Choice on Tour, Lake Tahoe Scenic Cruise, Napa Valley Vineyard Tour and Wine Tasting, San Francisco. Trip includes 12 Meals, transportation and transfers. $3,249 double occupancy. Trip insurance strongly encouraged for an additional $399pp.

    Wed, Nov 16th – Shopping at Woodbury Commons, Central Valley, NY Enjoy a day of outlet shopping at Woodbury Commons with over 220 outlets from the world’s leading designers’. Lunch on own at the Food Pavilion. Trip fee is $55
    per person. Moderate to a lot of walking. Registration now open.

     

    Sat, Dec 3rd – New York City on Own – Bus leaves East Lyme at 7:15am and leaves NYC at 7pm. Trip fee is $70pp. No meal included in trip price. Lots of walking. Registration begins Oct 3rd.

     

    Wed, Dec 7th – Newport Playhouse – A Christmas for Carol, Newport, RI Start your holiday celebrations with the world premiere of a Christmas comedic farce and enjoy the return to the actual Playhouse as they finally return to their home. Always a good time, a good meal and a great way to take the stress out of the holiday season. Lunch is included. Trip fee is $105pp. Minimal walking. Registration begins Oct 3rd.

    Trip: Jack-o-Lantern Spooktacular at Roger William Zoo

    The Roger Williams Zoo presents their nationally acclaimed walk-through Jack-O-Lantern Spooktacular. Free time at the Providence Mall for dinner.

    Trip: Covered Bridges & Cathedral of the Pines

    Wednesday, October 5th

    to Rindge, NH

     

    A guided tour of the Cathedral of the Pines – stand among the tall pines. Lunch will be served at the Woodbury Inn with its rustic & cozy atmosphere. Followed by a Guided Driving tour of the Covered bridges that are practically a trademark of New England.

    Trip fee $120 per person. Some walking. Registration now open.

    Senior Center Fun Trip: La Luna & Lighthouse Cruise

    Wednesday, September 14th from 11:00am-4:30pm

    Lunch at La Luna in New London then Lights & Sights Lighthouse Cruise

    (Different cruise Itinerary from August trip– preference will be given to Members who were unable to attend in Aug)

     

    $35 Per Person *cash* payable in advance.

     

    Lunch on own at La Luna. Departure time is 11:00am and expected return is 4:30pm. The cruise fee is $35.00, but if we can get 20 people to register (some will have to drive and meet us there), we can get 25% reduction off the ticket price.
