Trips

If you have suggestions about travel ideas, please contact the Senior Center office at 860-739-5859. We will consider all requests. Don’t be shy – tell us what is on your bucket list.

Day Trips are planned for the months of April through December. On average, there are 2 Day Trips per month scheduled. These trips are held in conjunction with Lymes’ Senior Center and Waterford Senior Services as a way to ensure enough registrations for a trip to run. Day Trips are open to adults.

Registration dates for Day Trips are noted on their specific flyer. It is important to register as soon as you can. If a Day Trip is full, be sure to put your name on the Wait List. If there are enough names on the Wait List, we will look to run a second bus or to schedule the same trip at a later date. If that happens, all names on the Wait List will be called first.

OVERNIGHT TRIPS/CRUISES

Overnight trips and cruises are scheduled throughout the year. Their duration is anywhere between 2 nights to 2 weeks. These trips are also held in conjunction with Lymes’ Senior Center and Waterford Senior Services as a way to ensure enough registrations for a trip to run. Overnight Trips and Cruises are open to adults.

Registration dates for Overnight Trips/Cruises are noted on their specific flyer. It is important to register as soon as you can.

    Wednesday, October 23rd- Bus Trip to Tea Kettle in Old Saybrook

    Open to Non-Residents if there is availability.
    Non-residents will be charged a $1.00 surcharge.

    When registering for any of the trips listed below, you can sign up yourself and one other person only. Payment is due upon registration. Please stop by the Senior Center office.

    Senior Center Day Trips use a bus from the Center for transport to and from the destinations.  Number of seats very limited.

    Departure time: 11:00am

    Return time: around 3:00pm

    Oct 23rd – Join us for lunch at the Tea Kettle in Old Saybrook. Shopping afterwards and if the leaves cooperate, a bit of sight seeing! Departure from the Senior Center at 11am. Return time around 3pm. Trip fee is $pp.

    Wednesday, September 25th- Bus Trip to the Thimble Islands

    Sep 25th – Due to our large wait list from this previous trip, we will again offer an 11am cruise of the Thimble Islands located in Branford. Lunch will be afterwards at the U.S.S. Chowder Pot. Departure from the Senior Center at 9:30am. Return time around 4pm. Trip fee is $18pp. People on our current wait list will have first priority.  

     

    Wednesday, September 11th- Bus Trip to Slater Memorial Museum and Caddyshack Restaurant

    Join us for a guided tour at the Slater Memorial Museum in Norwich, CT and see what a gem we have in our backyard. Afterwards, we’ll lunch at the Caddyshack Restaurant located at the Norwich Golf Course.

    Thursday, November 7th- Day Trip to Old Sturbridge Village in Sturbridge, MA.

    DAY TRIPS Registration begins on the dates noted below. Register as soon as you can. Trip counts are required a month in advance to determine if we have the minimum number for a trip to run. Detailed flyers available for all Day Trips. 


    Travel back in time with us as we enjoy a morning, guided tour of Old Sturbridge Village in Sturbridge, MA. Enjoy this 200 acre outdoor history museum with time after lunch (lunch included) in the afternoon to wander and explore. Trip fee is $102. A lot of walking. Registration begins Sep 3rd.
