If you have suggestions about travel ideas, please contact the Senior Center office at 860-739-5859. We will consider all requests. Don’t be shy – tell us what is on your bucket list.

Day Trips are planned for the months of April through December. On average, there are 2 Day Trips per month scheduled. These trips are held in conjunction with Lymes’ Senior Center and Waterford Senior Services as a way to ensure enough registrations for a trip to run. Day Trips are open to adults.

Registration dates for Day Trips are noted on their specific flyer. It is important to register as soon as you can. If a Day Trip is full, be sure to put your name on the Wait List. If there are enough names on the Wait List, we will look to run a second bus or to schedule the same trip at a later date. If that happens, all names on the Wait List will be called first.

OVERNIGHT TRIPS/CRUISES

Overnight trips and cruises are scheduled throughout the year. Their duration is anywhere between 2 nights to 2 weeks. These trips are also held in conjunction with Lymes’ Senior Center and Waterford Senior Services as a way to ensure enough registrations for a trip to run. Overnight Trips and Cruises are open to adults.

Registration dates for Overnight Trips/Cruises are noted on their specific flyer. It is important to register as soon as you can.

    Wednesday, September 4th- Day Trip on Coach Bus to Theater by the Sea

    Enjoy an afternoon at Theater by the Sea for their production of “Saturday Night Fever”. Lunch on your own in the lovely seaside town of Galilee, RI. Trip fee is $70pp. Moderate walking. Registration begins June 3rd.

    Wednesday, August 21st- Bus Trip to Cruise of the Thimble Islands

    When registering for any of the trips listed below, you can sign up yourself and one other person only. Payment is due upon registration. Please stop by the Senior Center office.

    Senior Center Day Trips use a bus from the Center for transport to and from the destinations.  Number of seats very limited.

    Departure time: 9:30am

    Return time: around 4:00pm

    Wed, Aug 21st – Join us for an 11am cruise of the Thimble Islands located in Branford. Lunch will be afterwards at the U.S.S. Chowder Pot. Departure from the Senior Center at 9:30am. Return time around 4pm. Trip fee is $18pp.

     

    Wednesday, August 14th- Bus Trip to Breakwater Restaurant in Stonington

    Wed, Aug 14th – Join us for lunch at Breakwater restaurant in Stonington. Shopping afterwards. Departure from the Senior Center at 11am. Return around 3:30pm. Trip fee is $5pp.

     

    Tuesday, October 15th- Day Trip to Polka at the Aqua Turf

    Tue, Oct 15th – Polka at the Aqua Turf featuring the The Polka Family Band. Bring your dancing shoes or just come for the fun music. Lunch included. Trip fee is $73pp. Minimal walking. Registration begins Jul 1st.

     

    Tuesday, October 1st- Day Trip to Tour of a Cranberry Bog

    Tue, Oct 1st – Join us for a narrated tour of a Cranberry Bog at A.D. Makepeach Co – the world’s largest cranberry grower. Lunch is included at Lindsey’ Family Restaurant and menu choice is needed upon registration. Stop at Dorothy Cox Chocolates Factory before heading home. Trip fee is $92pp. Moderate walking. Registration begins Jul 1st.
