    Mixed Media and Drawing: New Class

    Mixed Media and Drawing- Mondays 10 am to 12 noon, Nov 7th to Dec 19th/ 7 week class $35.

    This class is an opportunity to experiment with a variety of drawing, painting and collage materials. Playful experimenting will be combined with exercises that will give you a framework to try out new ideas. The instructor will introduce concepts and demos at the beginning of each class. Drawing experience helpful but not required. Advanced students are welcome to work on their own projects with subject matter and materials that interest them. Individual instruction is given throughout class.

    ART CLASSES

    TAUGHT BY INSTRUCTOR SHARON SCHMIEDEL

    Sharon has a BFA in painting from the Maryland Institute College of Art. She works in watercolor, acrylics, and collage. These works are energetic and expressive; it is the opposite direction from the many years she spent working in technical illustration, medical illustration, and graphic design.     Pearl Harbor Day Social

    Join us for the 75th Anniversary on the attack on Pearl Harbor on Wednesday, December 7th at 1:00pm as Husband and wife Duo, Broadway Cabaret Singer Karen Wagner and Classical Tenor/ Hartford Police Officer Robert Iovanna team up to pay tribute with their performance Salute to American Heroes. Teaming up, they will take us on a “Musical Walk Down Memory Lane”, honoring “American Heroes”, our Veteran’s, through a special patriotic musical tribute.     Join us for a performance from Ashley Cruz on Friday, November 18th at 1:30 pm.
    “When asked to describe Ashly Cruz it is best to envision what ~would come down the pike were you to take a double shot of Janis Joplin, Betty Boop, and Marylin Monroe together (shaken and not stirred). WOW!!! Ashly is wildly entertaining and crowd pleasing. Music, theatre, and dance meld into one on stage.” You will not want to miss this free performance!

    Thanksgiving Luncheon.

    Join us for the Thanksgiving Luncheon on Friday, November 18th at 12:00pm. Donations cost $3.00 for seniors aged 60 and over. Reservations need to be made between October 21st and November 4th by calling (860)434-4322.

    Medicare and You: Skilled Home Health Services

    Andie Mackey, a Home Health Specialist from Kindred at Home in Old Saybrook will be speaking on Medicare and You: Skilled Home Healh  Services at no cost to you.  The presentation will be at the Lyme’s Senior Center on Tuesday, November 15 at 1pm – 2pm.   Snacks will be provided.
