8 Week Advanced Drawing and Watercolor Class

This class is for students who have taken two or more classes with Sharon Schmeidel or have a good art foundation and permission from the instructor. Students can work in either medium. Playful experimenting will be combined with exercises that will further develop your drawing skills. The instructor will introduce ideas and demos at

the beginning of each class, though students are encouraged to work on their own projects with subject matter that interests them. Individual instruction is given throughout class. Schmeidel who has a BFA in painting from Maryland Institute College of Art will instruct this 8 week class which begins on May 9th and will be held on Mondays from 10:00am-12:00pm. Suffering knee or hip pain? FREE Educational Seminar. On May 13th at 1:00pm., Dr. Stanat who specializes in Total Joint Replacement & is the only surgeon in the State of CT to be fellowship trained in Robotic Assisted Surgery with use of the MakoPlasty Robot will be here to present this seminar. 2016 Decisive Year in Presidential Politics. This program will be held on May 10, 2016 at 1:00pm and will be led by Mark Albertson. He is an historical research editor at Army Aviation magazine and has authored three books: USS Connecticut: Constitution State Battleship, They’ll Have to Follow You! The Triumph of the Great White Fleet, and On History: A Treatise. He teaches World War II history at Norwalk Community College for Lifetime Learners. Please call (860)434-1605 ext 240 to register.

Hay is for Horses!!! On May 4th from 11:00- 11:45am we will have a horse here at the senior center!! Our neighbors from High Hopes will be here with one of their horses for us to pet & ask questions about. They will be located outside on our lawn. In addition there will be a sign up for those that wish to make a follow-up visit to High Hopes in the future.
