News From the Thursday Quilting Group
We continue to meet weekly for two hours on Thursday afternoons and welcome any Senior Center Member to join us to learn more about making a fabric creation. Our goals are (1) to inspire the art and craft of quilting via weekly “show and tell” times; (2) to teach the newer and the time-honored quilting and sewing techniques and (3) to create quilts that can be donated to organizations.
Recently it was a pleasure to send three completed quilts to the Hole in the Wall Gang in Ashford, CT. In addition, some of our quilts are earmarked for the seasonal displays right here at the Senior Center. In June, we display quilts completed by individual members and by the class as a group project. Feel free to stop by and see what we are working on!
Welcome Lorie Trainor!
We would like to take this opportunity to welcome the newest member to our Senior Center team!
Lorie Trainor officially started on September 30, 2019. Lorie will be responsible for transporting our seniors in various capacities. She will greet you with a cheerful disposition and always make you feel very welcomed. Lorie most recently worked in the Griswold Schools transportation system and was a per diem driver for us this past summer. WELCOME LORIE!!!!
