Debbie Gaudet is Artist of the Month ~ December

This month the display case outside of the library will be filled with wonderful paintings from the very talented Debbie Gaudet.  Debbie is a participant in the Monday morning Art Class and is very talented in oil painting.  Please stop by and take a look!

I am a self taught artist, only taking a couple of oil painting classes through the Norwich Adult Education.  I worked full time for 35 years at the UConn Dental School.  After retiring in 2012 I joined the Rose City Senior Center and the Monday morning Art Class, where I have enjoyed meeting and working with many talented fellow artist.

My two favorite muses in life have always been art and gardening.  The garden provides

me with endless subjects to paint and I love the challenge of trying to capture its beauty on canvas. I often use my own garden for inspiration or working off of a photo I have found from different sources.

Painting for me is a form of meditation. I can sit and be still and forget everything for 2 or more hours getting totally lost in what I am painting.  ~ Debbie Gaudet
