    **Game Days are paused for the summer months- will resume in September**

    Mondays are Game Day at the senior center. We have a wide selection of games
    available for participants or bring your own game. The activities usually begin at
    1:00 p.m. and conclude at 3:00 p.m. The choices are endless and the participants
    are eager to learn new games or help teach newcomers a game that they are
    unfamiliar with. It’s a day to relax and have fun.

    Also drop in on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. and join in with friends and neighbors playing Pitch, Rummikub, Cribbage, etc.

    It’s Picnic Time! -Wednesday, June 29th starting at 11:00am

    Mark your calendars for Wednesday, June 29 nd to join us for a picnic at the
    Preston Senior Center. Lenny Domina will entertainment us with song and guitar
    playing from 11:15 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. It’s always a pleasure to have Lenny share
    his musical talents and provide us with a wide variety of songs. (On occasion the
    audience has even provided back-up singers too.) Our traditional picnic fare will
    follow which will include hot dogs, hamburgers, salads, dessert and beverage.
    You must register for the picnic informing us of how many hot dogs or burgers
    you wish to order. This event will be held rain or shine with a limit of 25
    participants. You can register in person at the Preston Senior Center (Monday 9-
    1:00 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.) or by
    telephoning the Senior Affairs Office at 860-887-5581 ext. 6. Come, join in on the
    fun, visit with old friends and make new ones. This day was planned especially for
    you!

    Veterans Coffee House of Eastern CT- Tuesdays from 8:30-11:00am

    All veterans are cordially invited to attend the Veterans Coffee House of
    Eastern CT gatherings on Tuesdays from 8:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at the Old
    Pachaug Town Hall, 831 Voluntown Road, Griswold. The program offers
    information on important benefits; an opportunity to socialize with your peers
    and gain knowledge from the variety of speakers and presentations. Veterans of
    all ages are welcome and encouraged to attend.

    Renters Rebate Program -2022

    Renters Rebate Program is underway.  The application filing period is April 1st through October 1st.

    To participate in the program, you must have been 65 years of age by the end of the calendar year preceding the filing period; or be 50 years of age or older and the surviving spouse of a renter, who at the time of his/her death, had qualified and was entitled to tax relief at the time of his/her death. Applicants filed under the disability provision must be accompanied by current proof of
    disability. The Claimant must have been a resident in Connecticut for a one-year period of time prior to filling an application.

    Applicant’s qualifying income in the calendar year 2021 must not exceed $38,100 if unmarried, or $46,400 if married or other. For married couples or other, unless legally separated, income from both husband and wife must be counted in establishing qualifying income, regardless of living arrangements. Qualifying income is considered wages, bonuses, commissions, gratuities and
    fees; self-employment net income; gross Social Security benefits, Federal Supplemental Security income, dividends, interest, annuities; IRA distributions, Black Lung payments; Green Thumb payments; interest resulting from gifts received; Lottery winnings; net rental income, pensions, Railroad Retirement; severance pay, Unemployment Compensation, Workers Compensation, Alimony, etc.

    The applicant must provide proof of rent and utilities payments during the 2021 calendar year.
