GUITAR LEVEL 2 LESSONS – Monday from 12:00-1:00pm

New session starts Jan 9th ends Mar 20th (no class 1/16 & 2/20). In person instructor led lessons for advanced beginner and more experienced students on Mon at 12pm.

9 classes. Class fee $54R & $59NR

Guitar Lessons are provided in a high quality group session. Learn how to strum chords, play a song melody and meet others interested in music lessons. Knowing how to read music is not necessary. Loaners are available.

 

Chair Yoga- Mondays at 10:45-11:45am

Chair Yoga enables participants to enjoy the benefits of Yoga without having to get down or back up from the floor. This class will help participants maintain their fitness, recover after injuries or surgery while bringing calmness to the mind and a lifting of spirits. It will also help to improve brain function and co-ordination. A chair is used for the class. Please bring water and wear comfortable clothing and appropriate shoes.

Tai Chi- Wednesdays and Fridays at 9:00-10:00am

New Session starts Jan 6th and ends on Mar 24th (no class 1/4).
In person instruction on Wed and Fri at 9am.
23 classes. Class fee $58R and $64NR.

Tai Chi is a system of exercise based on Chinese Internal Martial Arts. The techniques and practice are circulares in nature, soft, slow and continuous. This class is does Qi Gong (Chinese Health Giving Exercises) and Tai Chi Forms. Sometimes equated to “mediation in motion” Tai Chi practice is not strenuous and promotes calm, fluidity and balance. A chair can be used to assist with balance. Please bring water and wear comfortable clothing and shoes that will not stick to the wooden floor.

Craft: Dried Hydrangea Flowers

Tuesday, December 13th at 1:00pm. Crafting with Hydrangeas taught by instructor Elaine. She will demo different things you can make with dried hydrangea flowers. Many would make great decorations and gifts. Cost is FREE for members, $5.00 for non-members. Call to reserve yours spot. Limited space available.

SENIOR CENTER & SENIOR CLUB NEWS

Watch for details on the changes being made with the senior club and working in combination with the Senior Center. In the past there was a great deal of confusion as to the membership of the
senior center and how that did not include membership of the senior club and vice versa. Going forward, it will be one in the same. Membership for 2023 will be automatically inclusion to both. Watch for details.

MONTVILLE SENIOR CLUB NEWS- 2023 dues will be $25.00

Just a reminder that there are no charges for programs and services throughout the year; classes and programs are free. Dinner are fundraisers to help us pay instructors. The Club and Center will
be combining to make it easier for everyone. There will be one membership payment at the beginning of the year which will cover everyone’s membership (Club and Center) and all programs and classes will remain free to members.

HEALTH & WELLNESS PROGRAM on Monday – Friday Videos

We are still providing our Health & Wellness videos for those interested in staying active and healthy from home. The program is called COOPED UP WITH CAITLIN and videos are provided Monday – Friday and  show you how to keep moving safely in your home! Working on different muscle groups, different areas of the body, etc. the videos will show you how to move throughout the home, using different furniture or household items to hold or hold on to while performing exercises to help keep your muscles and blood moving and flowing!

Healthy Stretching Class- Every Thursday from 3:00-4:00pm

As we age our muscles become shorter and lose their elasticity. Aging can affect the structure of our bones and muscles causing pain and decreased range of motion in the shoulders, spine, and hips. Stretching is an excellent way to help relieve pain, increase flexibility, and increase range of motion to enhance our everyday life. Class is for anyone seeking to achieve the many benefits of stretching. Please wear comfortable clothing & sneakers to participate in class!

Meditation Class- Wednesdays at 10:00am

Deep Breathing, Aromatherapy, Guided Mediation, and Mindfulness Discussions. This is a great way to start the day! There are many health benefits to Mediation: Detoxification of body, de-stressing, increased cardiovascular capacity, regulate weight, improved posture, help with anxiety, depression, heart disease, high blood pressure & more! Classes are on-going—you can join at any time, please call for details.
