Tuesday, July 23rd- AARP Driver Safety- Smart Driver Course

9:00 AM – 1:00 PM

The AARP Smart Driver Course (formally Driver’s Safety) is the nation’s first and largest refresher course for drivers age 50 and older. It has given millions of older drivers the skills and tools they need to drive safely on today’s roads. In fact, 97% of those who take it change at least one driving behavior.

And the best part? There are no tests to pass – just useful information to keep you safe on the road! You may get an insurance discount after taking this course! Auto insurance companies in most states provide a multi-year discount to course graduates! Please consult your insurance agent for more information about discounts available to you.

Cost: $15 AARP Members     $20 AARP Non-Members

Proud Moments- Baker’s Battle March

Another tremendous community event at Groton Senior Center- Bakers Battle on Saturday, March 9th! We are deeply thankful for 20 plus bakers that competed with such enthusiasm, heart and great skill! In addition, we are so grateful to the over 120 persons who tasted and judged! A vast array of goodness for any sweet tooth; it was a tough call to pick who one liked best. The votes were very close.

FREE and open to the Public. Approximately 4 miles. Meet at, and hike through, the Sheep Farm & onto the new 104 acre addition, then across Route1, through The Merritt Family Forest & onto Beebe Pond Park, through the Moore Woodlands, finishing at Beebe Pond’s parking lot on Noank Road.  Stroll to Town’s End as an optional extension. Some rugged trails & terrain, moderate paced. Wear sturdy shoes, bring water & small snack. Transportation will be provided back to the Sheep Farm parking area.

The Johnson State College Men’s Ensemble Performance

Time: 12:30pm

An amazing internationally renowned men’s choral ensemble who have been together since 1967 will be hosting their annual reunion gig with us on June 14th! Men’s acapella group from late 60’s to early 70’s. Still singing after 45 years.
Please join us for this special performance!

Time: 5:00pm

The community gives to the Groton Senior Center; Dining Out is our way of giving back to the community. Each month a Restaurant is featured. Ride the senior van or meet us there. Order a full entrée or just appetizers. An evening outing, socializing and enjoyment! Please join us Tuesdays for a “socially nutritional” evening .
Registration is required– please let us know if you need a GSC bus transportation.
