O’Tis A Festival

The Life Long Learning Writers Group meets at the Senior Center every-other Friday.  Whether you’re a new writer or you’ve been creating works for years, this group is a welcoming place for all to encourage and support each other’s creative journey.  Writers of all types of literature are welcome!

 

Beltone Hearing Aid Clinic

Thursday November 16th from 9:00-11:00am

 

A Hearing Care Practitioner from Beltone will be at Rose City Senior Center for cleaning and checking all makes and models of hearing aids.  They will also be available to answer any questions you may have about hearing aids and hearing health.  This is a free service.  An appointment is needed.

Generations Family Health Center

Wednesday, November 29th  from 11:45 a.m. – 12:45 p.m.

A community health worker from Generations Family Health Center will be at the Senior Center to discuss the health care services they offer.  Generations offers access to

Primary Care (Medical, Dental and Behavioral Health) and is currently accepting new patients of all ages.  Generations also offers assistance with insurance applications, a Sliding Fee Scale available, assistance with linkages to financial benefits, and can help you to afford your prescriptions

Drop-in between 11:45 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. to discuss your health care needs.  An appointment is not needed.  Generations Family Health Center is located at 330 Washington Street, Norwich

Narcan Training For Seniors

Thursday, November 29th  at 10:00 a.m.

Learn to Save a Life!

Narcan (Naloxone) given as a nasal spray, can reverse the effects of a suspected opioid overdose.  Administering Narcan can help keep someone from losing a child, a parent, a sibling, a spouse…

This 45 minute training will cover signs and symptoms of an opioid overdose and how to administer Narcan.  Narcan kits will be provided to participants.  This training is free and open to the public.

Mobility Equipment “Tune-up”

Thursday, November 16th from 10:00-11:00am

 

A representative from Mobility Plus in Plainfield will be here to tune-up your mobility equipment such as wheelchairs, rollators, walkers, etc.  Services provided include testing batteries on electrical equipment; secure and tighten all electrical harnesses; adjust and tighten all nuts & screws on manual equipment; answer questions and educate on proper usage of mobility equipment.

Nov. 27th – Importance of Sleep and Your Brain

Beginner Tai Chi & Qi Gong

Fridays from 1:30-2:30pm starting November 3rd 

Cost: $65     6 week session (no class Nov. 24th)

Interested in learning Tai Chi & Qi Gong?  This class is for you!  Participants of all abilities will learn Tai Chi movements, postures, meditation, and breathing techniques to promote physical and mental well-being and longevity.  Qi Gong can help to reduce stress and anxiety and to help with a variety of other health conditions.  This class is for beginners with no experience or limited experience.
