October Mini-Trip: Mini-trips are open to Rose City Senior Center Members only.

Located in the center of Connecticut’s largest historic district, the Webb-Deane-Stevens Museum provides the quintessential New England experience.  Visitors are immersed in life of the mid-18th and early-19th centuries during an informative and entertaining tour of three historic properties.  On your visit you will tour three meticulously restored historic houses, with a knowledgeable guide.

The tour includes the c. 1752 Joseph Webb House, where General George Washington and French General Rochambeau planned the joint military campaign that led to the victory at Yorktown, Virginia, and the end of the American Revolutionary War.  The c. 1770 Silas Deane House which was built for America’s Revolutionary War diplomat to France as both his residence and as a power base for his political aspirations and also features an excellent collection of mid-to-late 18th century furniture made in Connecticut and the c. 1788 Isaac Stevens House which depicts life of a middle class family in the early 19th century and include a fascinating exhibit of antique toys.

All three houses are located on the same property and within very easy walking distance to each other.
