    TECHNOLOGY CENTER: OCTOBER 27–DECEMBER 21

    At this time, the TECHNOLOGY CENTER is limited to 9 people per room..

    Due to safety precautions, we are asking that any Tech Center services be only one on one appointments until further notice. To meet with Wally, Dick and Joe please call 860-445-1057 to schedule.
    * Face masks will be required to be worn properly while in the Tech Center.
    * 6 feet social distancing is observed.
    * Joe will still offer Monday morning iPad help.
    * Wally and Dick volunteer most weekday mornings.
    * No Tech Talk during the Fall 2 session.
    * Wii Bowling will not be taking place this session as anything that has persons sharing “supplies” (cards, game)

    WE WEDNESDAYS virtual program meets weekly Wednesdays 10:00 am – 10:30 am virtually through the ZOOM app so that we may socialize with you while safe distancing.

    We keep it casual with one staff member and just allow for everyone to have a chance to say hello, chat about current events, check in on one another and hear GSC updates.

    Instacart’s new Senior Support Service is now available to help customers who are 60+ use online grocery delivery and stay safe during the pandemic. In the past month alone, we’ve brought more than 60,000 seniors online, and with the new service, helped them learn how to safely and efficiently use grocery delivery. Call 1-844-981-3433
    Our dedicated support specialists for seniors are available to assist senior customers with:
    • Setting up an Instacart account
    • Filling their virtual cart & placing their first order
    • Learning how to use key features like setting replacements & chatting with their shopper
    • Troubleshooting issues & questions about existing orders

    RESOURCE SERVICES DURING COVID19

    Both CHOICES Health Insurance Counseling and Benefits Counseling are going to continue via phone while we continue to deal with COVID19. Please call Senior Resources at 860-887-3561 for either program.

    Senior Resources is pleased to announce the in-home version of the popular Live Well with Chronic Conditions workshop is now available to seniors in the comfort of their home without having to use technology beyond the telephone. The Active Living Everyday Toolkit can be sent directly to participants at no cost and includes a Living a Healthy Life Book, instruction booklet and exercise and relaxation CD’s. Weekly phone calls from a trained Live Well leader enhances the experience and can help to alleviate social isolation during the COVID epidemic.

    Please note there is a limited supply of toolkits. Participants must share their name, address and phone number so the toolkit can be mailed directly to them and the leader can place the weekly call. The Agency on Aging Regional Coordinator will arrange to let you know ahead of time the name of the leader.     Since March we have continued to provide transportation to seniors who reside in Groton for shopping and medical appointments in Groton, New London, Waterford, Gales Ferry, Westerly, Stonington, & Mystic.
