    Alice Community Discussion

I want to introduce you to someone named ALICE.~ You most likely already know her. ALICE stands for Asset Limited Income Constrained Employed and she has a household income above the Federal Poverty Level, but below a basic cost-of-living threshold. These are the workers essential to every community’s success. In our area, a large number of people are living within or below the ALICE threshold.~ To learn more about how you can help, please come to the upcoming community discussion on September 1st from 6:00-8:00pm at the Lymes’ Senior Center- 26 Town Woods Road Old Lyme for a Public Pot Luck Dinner & Conversation to discuss affordable housing needs in the community. Please bring a dinner dish to share. For questions, please contact your Community Lead: Terri O’Rourke, 860-442-7890 x205.

“Living Well with Knee and Hip Arthritis”

Nearly 50% of adults develop symptomatic knee arthritis in their lifetime and 25% develop hip arthritis. Join Mary Jane Fegan, DPT on Tuesday, August 30th at 1:00 for a presentation on “Living Well with Knee or Hip Arthritis”. If you are not sure if you have arthritis but your knees or hips hurt, swell, buckle, lock or “crackle & pop”, this will be helpful!
