Painting Class

Every Monday from 4:30-6:30pm and every Thursday from 10:00-12:00pm and 12:30-2:30pm 

Location: Arts & Crafts Room

Even if you have never picked up a paintbrush before – come on down.  Get your name on the list as classes fill up fast, limited to eight people per class.

Strength Training

Every Monday and Wednesday from 3:00-4:00pm

Strength training increases muscle mass and also strengthens your bones, helps with weight management, provides relief from arthritis pain, lowers risk of injury, and improves cardiac health. You will be safely guided, by an ACE certified personal trainer, through a variety of exercise designed to increase muscular strength, range of motion, and flexibility required for everyday living at its best. Wear comfortable clothing & sneakers and come on down and take charge of your health!

Meditation Class

Every Wednesday from 10:00-11:00am

Deep Breathing, Aromatherapy, Guided Mediation, and Mindfulness Discussions. This is a great way to start the day! There are many health benefits to Mediation: Detoxification of body, de-stressing, increased cardiovascular capacity, regulate weight, improved posture, help with anxiety, depression, heart disease, high blood pressure & more! Classes are on-going—you can join at any time, please call for details.

Massage Therapy

Every Tuesday

Massage Therapy offers many health benefits (relief from arthritis, circulation, aids in digestion, stress, depression, etc.)  Appointments are free to Montville seniors.  Sign up is first come, first serve – one appt per month per senior as the schedule fills up and we have a waiting list each month. Call Senior Center to make your appointment at 860-848-0422.  We do put a donation boxes out to help offset the costs.

TVCCA Cafe Program

Every Monday from 11:30-12:30pm

Reservations are necessary and can be made in person or by contacting the Preston Senior Center on Monday mornings between 9:00 – 12:30 p.m. The phone number is 860-889-0770. Lunch is served at 11:30 a.m. at the senior center with a suggested donation of $3.00 per person for individuals who are 60 years of age and older.

Menu: Chicken Cacciatore, Farfalle Pasta w/Marinara, Green & Waxed Beans, Fresh Fruit, Bread, Margarine and Beverage.
All meals include 1% milk and whole grain bread, coffee and tea.

We welcome all individuals who are 60 years of age and older to attend the program. You do not need to be a Preston resident to attend, the program is open for you to enjoy. Hope to see you soon.

Chair Yoga

Every Monday from 10:00-11:00am

A complete yoga practice using the support of a chair. Breathing techniques, yoga philosophy, meditation and deep relaxation are woven into each class. In this fun and informative class, students will take home tools for mindfulness and relaxation as well as movements for energizing and stretching the body. Chair yoga classes are targeted for ages 60+ but classes are open to all adults and abilities.

Fee: $38.00 per session (6 weeks)

Zumba Gold

Every Friday from 6:30-7:15pm 

Active older adults who are looking for a modified Zumba class that
recreates the original moves you love at a lower-intensity, easy-to-follow
choreography that focuses on balance, range of motion and coordination.
This class can be modified for all abilities.
Ages: 50+
Location: Preston Community Park Basketball Courts

Games

**Game Days are paused for the summer months- will resume in September**

Mondays are Game Day at the senior center. We have a wide selection of games
available for participants or bring your own game. The activities usually begin at
1:00 p.m. and conclude at 3:00 p.m. The choices are endless and the participants
are eager to learn new games or help teach newcomers a game that they are
unfamiliar with. It’s a day to relax and have fun.

Also drop in on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. and join in with friends and neighbors playing Pitch, Rummikub, Cribbage, etc.
