Our book for discussion this month is The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd. This is a truly remarkable book that that explores love, race, home and the power of women.
The Ledyard Senior Center Book Discussion takes place the fourth Wednesday of the month at 10:30 AM at the Ledyard Senior Center. Books are usually given out at the previous month’s meeting or can be picked up at the Gales Ferry Library part of Ledyard Library. We welcome you to join! Have you ever wanted to bring out your inner Van Gogh but weren’t sure how to go about it? Here’s your opportunity to be creative and take home your own landscape painting at the end of this one session class. All supplies are included.
Mondays 10:00am-12:00pm beginning March 13th
or Thursdays 10:00am-12:00pm beginning March 16th
5-week course
Fee: $50
Each class will start with a demonstration of techniques including use of brushes, palette knives, mediums and color mixing. Students need to bring a landscape picture from which you would like to paint. All materials are included.
