    St. Patrick’s Day Celebration Meal

    Monday, March 21st
    There will be a suggested donation of $4.50 per
    person for this meal only.
    Reservations are necessary to participate in the Café Program. We ask that
    you contact the senior center one week prior to the day in which you plan on
    attending. The telephone number is 860-889-0770. You may also leave a
    message at the Senior Affairs Office by calling 860-887-5581 extension 6

    March Food Distribution

    Mark your calendars for Friday, March 4th
    as the scheduled date of the next
    Food Distribution at the Preston Senior Center. UC&FS will continue with monthly
    food distributions as long as interest warrants. We welcome Preston residents
    along with residents in surrounding towns to join us between 10:00 a.m. and
    11:00 a.m. at the center which is located at 42 Long Society Road. Unfortunately,
    when we’re faced with inclement weather, cancellation notices may not reach
    everyone in a timely fashion. Should you question whether a distribution will be
    conducted or cancelled, you are encouraged to contact the Preston Senior Center
    at 860-889-0770 on distribution day. Myself or other staff members are usually
    available to answer questions.

    February Lunch Menus

    Meals are served at
    11:30 a.m. at the Preston Senior Center, 42 Long Society Road. Reservations are
    required and we are closed on all Federal holidays. Call 860-889-0770 on
    Mondays or 860-887-5581 ext. 6 Tuesday thru Friday for additional information.

    February 14th
    Beef Stew, Steamed Parsley Potatoes, Broccoli, Fresh Fruit, bread, margarine and
    beverage.
    February 21st
    Program Closed in observation of Presidents Day.   
    February 28th
    Italian Pork Sausage & Peppers, Penne Pasta W/marinara sauce, Green & Waxed
    Beans, Fresh Fruit, bread, margarine and beverage.
    The suggested donation for persons 60 years of age and older is $3.00 per
    person. You do not need to be a Preston resident to participate in the program

    February Food Distribution

    Friday, February 4th
    from 10:00 11:00 a.m. to
    attend the next food distribution at the Preston Senior Center, 42 Long Society
    Road. Truly amazing the wide range of frozen meats, fresh produce, dairy and
    non-perishable food items that are distributed through this drive-thru event.
    Many thanks to United Community & Family Services and their many sponsors
    which make this event possible. We will continue with the monthly distributions
    (first Friday) each month (with Mother Natures cooperation). The program is
    open to Preston residents and non-residents alike.

    Free Live Well Workshops

    Now offered via telephone. Senior Resources is now offering three different Free Live Well Telephone Workshops for area adults and their caregivers: Chronic Pain Self-Management, Diabetes Self-Management, Chronic Pain Self-Management. No other technology than a phone is needed for participants to connect for one hour weekly for six weeks to a trained Live Well leader who facilitates the sessions. In these weekly interactive calls, the leader reviews material and the group explores different self management tools such as action planning, problem solving, decision making, communication, healthy eating, physical activity and planning for the future.
