2017 – Ideas and Suggestions
Happy New Year Everyone! I would like to thank everyone who participated in events, took classes and went on trips with the Rose City Senior Center in 2016. With your participation, it was a fantastic year! Now that 2017 is upon us, I look forward to offering you affordable trips, great classes and interesting programs. Hopefully this will offer something for everyone looking for a little “adventure”! As I continue to plan for 2017, I would like your input! What would you like to see offered in 2017? Whether it is a trip suggestion, an idea for a speaker or a new class, I welcome your suggestion! You can drop off your ideas at the Reception desk or in the comment box located outside of the Pool Room. You can also email me your ideas (hsandberg@cityofnorwich.org) or call the Senior Center (860-889-5960) to talk to me. Let’s make 2017 a great New Year! Thanks again! Afghan Raffle Winner!
Congratulation to Pat Vincent who recently won the beautiful woven lap-sized lavender afghan that was being raffled off. This afghan was made by the very talented Joan Banas of the Thursday afternoon Knitting and Crocheting Group. Thank you Joan for the beautiful donation! The Senior Center made approximately $200 on the sale of raffle tickets. Thank you to everyone who purchased raffle tickets. All proceeds from this raffle will remain with the Rose City Senior Center and will be used towards future programs and events.

THANK YOU to everyone who helped out at the Seniors Holiday Luncheon in December! Thank you to Senior Center Volunteers Nancy Caplet, Henry Daigneault, Cora Landry, Claire McLaughlin and William McLaughlin for your help with set-up and clean up. We appreciated it! Thank you to Matthews Catering Company for catering the delicious meal and serving.
AARP Income Tax Assistance
If you wish to have your taxes done, please call the Senior Center starting January 3rd to schedule an appointment. This is a free-of-charge service through AARP. (860) 889-5960. Call early, appointments go quickly!
Valentine’s Day Party
Join us for a Valentine’s Day Party It will be so sweet! Tuesday, February 14th 12:30 PM $7 per person Love is in the air, so let’s celebrate Valentine’s Day! Join us for an afternoon of love inspired songs and romantic music with entertainment by “Songbird” Judy Hall Gray! Light refreshments, hors d’oeuvres and of course plenty of desserts will be served (because what would Valentine’s Day be without some sweet treats)! We hope you will join us and Be Our Valentine! Tickets available at Reception starting Monday January 9th. LIMITED TICKETS AVAILABLE Last day to purchase tickets is February 8th(or until we sell out).
